The reference room of the Media Center
The Media center is an environment for information education at the college. The Center provides not only computers, but also has up-to-date equipment for the viewing, recording and the editing of sounds and images, in addition to a large studio.

The Library's OPAC facilities, and terminals for the Internet
The Library plays an important role in the music world in japan, not only in terms of the number of books it holds, but also the way they are catalogued and in the kinds of activities it carries out. There are OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalog) facilities, and terminals for the Internet.

Abstract:

Kunitachi College of Music was founded in 1926 as the Tokyo Conservatory of Music.

@It was renamed in 1950. Over the years, about 30,000 students have graduated many making important contributions to society. Today using I.T. (Information Technology), the college contains a Media Center, Library, and a collection for organology , as well as a research institute for music; each independent. Some departments have their own UNIX computing facilities.
@An Internet accessible system called KMEDIA-NETWORK was established in 2000. It is available anytime, to students and members of the staff. There are two types of the computer-platform, Machintosh & Windows. Students are expected to acquire information-processing skills in some of the major courses and interdisciplinary fields. Some, seek employment via the Internet.
