The Information Science Center (ISC) at Hyogo University provides a standard information processing environment that is based on the advanced information processing technology required for education activities. Our system was named "New-HUMANS"iNew-Hyogo University Multimedia Autonomous Network Systemjwhich shows the purposes of the construction.
In "New-HUMANS", the campus building is connected to the very high-speed backbone network using Gigabit Ethernet. And PC clients can access the servers quicker.@That is, every user (staffs and students) in our environment can process information anytime and anywhere.
For realization of e-Learning service, this system is connected to the Internet via SINET and a commercial provider WCN.
In order to accomplish such an environment, principal function and service (server administration, network operation, and other various services) are centralized to ISC.
